By air

There are two international airports in the Oslo area: Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL), and Torp Sandefjord Airport (TRP).

Gardermoen (OSL) is the larger airport. It lies 50km north of the city, and it is easy to get from there to Oslo: there is an express train (flytoget) from the airport to the city. At most hours of the day, there are departures every 10 minutes, and the trip takes 25 minutes. When you come out of customs, turn to the right and walk to the end of the hall. Purchase a ticket to Oslo S.

Some Ryanair flights land in Torp (TRP). From there you will spend a lot of time in a bus to get to Oslo, so this is not recommended.

By public transport

Our closest bus stop is called Rabben (Nordre Follo, Viken). You get there using bus number 515, which goes from Hauketo stasjon once or twice an hour. When you get off the bus, you have to walk back in the direction you came from, about 200m uphill, and cross the road at the highest point. After the house on you left, there is a path that goes steeply upwards, then makes a right turn. Our house (Nr 13) is then on your left.

Alternatively, you can take the 550 bus to Sværsvann bru, which may have more frequent bus service, but is a 1.5km walk. You take the footpath next to Siggerudveien until you get to Siggerudbråten.

There are also various Metro stops and railway stations where we can easily pick up people with the car.

By car

From the E6, take exit 27, then follow the signs in direction of Enebakk. After 3.7km, by the filling station, turn to the right. After another 1.3km, just after the bus stop on the other side of the road, turn left, drive past the house on you left, until the spot where there is a garage to your right.

This is where Google Maps and GPS devices will typically get you. You are then at the bottom of the path that leads up the hill and to our house.

In summer: brace yourself, drive up, sharp right turn, further up, first house on the left. There is room for several cars.

In winter: when there is snow, you should not attempt this without a 4WD and spikes on your tires. It might possible without, but only if you know the path. Otherwise you will get stuck half way up. Don’t try your luck. You can park on the little road below the hill, called Siggerudbråten.
